Jan Christoph Meister
Jan Christoph Meister is a Professor of Digital Humanities at the Universität Hamburg. His previous appointments include professorships at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München and the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg / South Africa. His particular research interests lie in the fields of Narratology and in the application of digital methods and models to text exploration and text analysis. He has been involved in DH activities as past Chair of the EADH, as a member of the Executive Committee of ADHO, as founding chair of DHd and as local organizer for the DH 2012 conference. Jan Christoph Meister has been the PI for numerous DH-projects such as CATMA, heureCLÉA, 3DH, efoto-Hamburg. His current DFG-funded project fortext.net aims at a low-threshold dissemination of digital text analysis methods within the traditional philologies.
