Bursaries

Thanks to the generous support granted by the Volkswagen Foundation to the Summer School, participants who have no possibility of applying for a refund from another institution can apply for a bursary. The application is done together with the application for a place at the Summer School.

A bursary can only be granted if the applicant is present at the school all through the 9 days

Please note:

A bursary covers only economy flights / 2nd class train / bus tickets. Special offers need to be taken into account

A bursary does not cover flight / train / bus tickets if the journey lasts longer than 11 days altogether (for example: arrival 22nd of July - departure 01st of August would be fine; but: arrival 22nd of July - departure 02nd of August would mean that the flight / train / bus tickets cannot be covered)

For participants coming directly from DH 2012 in Hamburg to Leipzig a bursary covers the travel costs from Hamburg to Leipzig and from Leipzig back to the place of origin.

A bursary covers accommodation costs only up to a certain prize. We have reserved rooms in two hotels which make available rooms for the prize which can be covered by the bursary

A bursary covers all the meals during the Summer School. Drinks are, however, not covered by the bursary.

Participants from Leipzig can apply for a subsistence bursary which covers all the meals during the Summer School. Drinks are, however, not covered by the bursary.

A bursary does not cover the costs for a visa.

A bursary does not cover insurance costs.
