Jan Horstmann

Jan Horstmann is head of the Digital Lab in the Research Association Marbach Weimar Wolfenbüttel (MWW). He did his PHd in German Studies at the University of Hamburg on Theatre Narratology (published 2018 in de Gruyter's Narratologia series) and works in Digital Humanities since 2016. After a project on digital investigation of renunciation and irony in Goethe he coordinated the DFG-funded project forTEXT from 2017 to 2020. Jan studied German studies and History (B.A.) at the University of Münster and German Literatures (M.A.) at the University of Hamburg. In Digital Literary Studies the knowledge potential of digital methods with regards to literary research questions and bridge building towards traditional research are important to him.
