Randa El Khatib
Randa El Khatib is the Assistant Director (Open Knowledge Initiatives) of the Electronic Textual Cultures Lab (ETCL), where she helps run the Open Knowledge Program and carries out research related to open scholarship. She is a doctoral candidate in English at the University of Victoria studying the representation of literary space in plays and epic poetry of early modern England. Randa’s research focuses on geospatial humanities and software prototyping. Working at the intersection of these fields, she develops geospatial prototypes to apply to the study of early modern literature. In 2015, Randa co-founded the Digital Humanities Institute – Beirut (DHI–B); she also co-teaches the “Introduction to Computation for Literary Criticism” course at the Digital Humanities Summer Institute (DHSI). Randa is the Managing Editor of Early Modern Digital Review.
