Workshops "Digital Humanities in the making. From Methods to Projects and their Management"

La universidad de verano va a ofrecer diferentes talleres sobre los métodos y las tecnologías que juegan un papel central en las humanidades digitales en su sentido más largo. Estos talleres se ofrecerán en paralelo a lo largo de los 11 días. Cada taller se compone de un total de 18 sesiones o 36 horas lectivas semanales.

Los talleres se estructurarán en dos bloques iguales de 18 horas lectivas cada uno. Los participantes pueden apuntarse a los dos bloques de un mismo taller o a dos bloques de talleres diferentes. Los participantes que deseen apuntarse a dos bloques de talleres diferentes, tienen que demostrar en su solicitud que ya tienen algún conocimiento de los temas que se tratarán en el primer bloque (al que no asistirán), que se corresponde con el segundo bloque de la segunda semana (al que desean apuntarse).

No será posible inscribirse en un solo bloque. Por favor miren la sinopsis de los talleres.

Se ofrecerán los siguientes talleres:

  1. Alex Bia (University Miguel Hernández, Elche, España): XML-TEI document encoding, structuring, rendering and transformation (2 semanas)
  2. Carol Chiodo (Harvard University, USA) / Lauren Tilton (University of Richmond, USA): Hands on Humanities Data Workshop - Creation, Discovery and Analysis (2 semanas)
  3. Maciej Eder (Polish Academy of Sciences / Pedagogical University, Cracow, Polonia) / Jeremi Ochab (Jagiellonian University, Cracow, Polonia): Stylometry (2 semanas)
  4. Stefan Th. Gries (University of California, Santa Barbara, USA / Justus-Liebig-Universität Giessen, Alemania): Text processing for linguists and literary scholars with R (1 semana, segunda semana). 
  5. Simone Rebora (University of Basel, Switzerland) / Giovanni Pietro Vitali (Versailles Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines University – Paris-Saclay University, Francia): Distant Reading in R. From Text Analysis to Mapping (2 semanas)
  6. Peter Bell (Philipps-Universität Marburg, Alemania) / Fabian Offert (University of California, Santa Barbara, USA): Visual Artificial Intelligence for the Digital Humanities (2 semanas)
  7. Jason Boyd (Ryerson University Toronto, Canada): Procedural Creativity and Digital Humanities Scholarship (1 semana, segunda semana)
  8. Yael Netzer (Ben Gurion, Haifa  and Tel Aviv University, Israel): Digital Archives: Reading and Manipulating Large-Scale Catalogues, Curating and Creating Small-Scale Archives (2 semanas)
  9. Barbara Bordalejo (University of Lethbridge, Canada) / Peter Robinson (University of Saskatchewan, Canada): Making an edition of a text in many versions (2 semanas)
  10. Jason Boyd (Ryerson University Toronto, Canada): Project Planning and Management in the Digital Humanities (1 semana, primera semana)

El número de participantes de cada uno de los talleres estará limitado a 10.

Los participantes deberán traer sus propios materiales y proyectos en los que pueda aplicarse y someterse a prueba la materia lectiva.

Para cada taller habrá un Moodle en el cual se pondrán a disposición los materiales para la preparación y que se utilizará eventualmente como medio de enseñanza durante la Escuela de Verano.

Talleres que no tengan un minimo de 5 participiantes el 31 de Mayo tienen que ser abolidos.
