
Lauer, Gerhard
Gerhard Lauer, 1962, is full professor and chair of German studies at Göttingen University, where he is currently founding director of the Göttingen Centre for Digital Humanities. He is one of the principle investigators of the Courant Centre “Multi layered text protocol” and member of the Academy of Sciences in Göttingen. An expert in the field of digital infrastructure, he is engaged in several national and international initiatives like DARIAH, and chair of the digital edition of the work of Johann Friedrich Blumenbach (www.blumenbach-online.de). Together with the computer department at the University of Leipzig he runs a project on text re-use. He is also co-editor of the “Journal of Literary Theory”.
