Quotation and fragment in the age of digitization. Experiences and perspectives in research
The lecture is divided into two main sections. The first addresses a number of issues concerning the representation of citations as part of the cultural heritage and as part of classical studies. It takes as starting point the development of quoting and quotations before embarking on the discussion of identifying fragments and of their representation in a digital age. The second addresses the project eAQUA and its position within the development of digital humanities and analyzes some perspectives of knowledge construction that have emerged from the project work: the systematization of chance (serendipity), rare incidents and new ways of contextualizing the chronological and spatial visualization.
