Kathryn Simpson

Kathryn Simpson is a lecturer in 19th Century Literature and Colonialism, and a PhD researcher within the Centre for Literature and Writing at Edinburgh Napier University. Kathryn is the Project Scholar for Livingstone Online, having previously worked on the David Livingstone Multi-Spectral digital imaging project.

Kathryn’s expertise is in the area of digital 19th Century cultural creation and curation; involving imaging, data management, transcription, and XML & TEI textual mark-up. Her research focuses on 19th Century European Exploration in Africa and Imperial Adventure Romance Fiction, particularly the works of H. Rider Haggard.
