Siemens, Ray
Dr. Raymond Siemens (http://web.uvic.ca/~siemens/) is Canada Research Chair in Humanities Computing and Distinguished Professor in the Faculty of Humanities at the University of Victoria, in English with cross appointment in Computer Science. Ray is the founding editor of the electronic scholarly journal Early Modern Literary Studies and, among his numerous publications we find, for example: Blackwell's Companion to Digital Humanities (with Susan Schreibman and John Unsworth), Blackwell's Companion to Digital Literary Studies (with Susan Schreibman)and Mind Technologies: Humanities Computing and the Canadian Academic Community (with David Moorman). He is also the director of the Digital Humanities Summer Institute and Chair of the Steering Committee for the Alliance of Digital Humanities Organisations. In his teaching, he focuses on computational approaches to literary criticism and the modelling of knowledge in Digital Humanities.
