Scientific Committee
The Scientific Committee of ESU DH is responsible for the accademic contents and programme of the Summer University. Together with the workshop leaders it reviews the applications of potential participants and decides on their admission to a specific workshop. It evaluates furthermore the projects handed in for (Poster) presentation and decides on their admission. This year's committee is composed of the following specialists in Digital Humanities:
- Alex Bia, Professor for Statistics, Mathematics, and Computer Science at the University Miguel Hernández, Elche (Spain)
- Elisabeth Burr, Professor for French, Francophone and Italian Linguistics at the Universität Leipzig (Germany)
- Lisa Dieckmann, Director of prometheus, Institute for Art History, University of Cologne (Germany)
- Gerhard Heyer, Professor for Natural Language Processing at the University of Leipzig (Germany)
- Laszlo Hunyadi, Professor for General and Applied Linguistics at the University of Debrecen (Hungary)
- Hannah Kermes, Senior Researcher in English Linguistics and Translation Studies at the University of the Saarland (Germany)
- Jan Rybicki, Assistant Professor at the Institute of English Studies of the Uniwersytet Jagielloński, Kraków (Poland)
- Christof Schöch, leader of the Computational Literary Genre Stylistics group, funded by the German Ministry of Education and Research, at the University of Würzburg (Germany)
- Ray Siemens, Canada Research Chair in Humanities Computing and Distinguished Professor in the Faculty of Humanities at the University of Victoria, in English and Computer Science (Canada)
- Elke Teich, Professor of English Linguistics and Translation Studies at the University of the Saarland (Germany)
- Francesca Tomasi, Assistant Professor (Systems of elaboration of information – Computational Engineering) at the Department of Classical Philology and Italian Studies, University of Bologna (Italy)
- Andreas Witt, Senior researcher at the Institute for the German Language in Mannheim and Honorary Professor of Digital Humanities at Heidelberg University (Germany)
- Heike Zinsmeister, Professor of German Linguistics / Corpus Linguistics at the University of Hamburg (Germany)
