Peter Bell
Dr. Peter Bell is group leader of the project “Artistic and Artifical Seeing: Computer Vision and Art History in Methodical and Practical Cooperation” at the Heidelberg Academy of Science and Humanities and scientific assistant at the prometheus Bildarchiv at the University of Cologne with the project “Konzeption zur digitalen Erschließung von Postkarten und Druckgrafik des Rom e.V.” (BMBF).
He has been managing director of the Hartware MedienKunstVerein, Dortmund. He studied art history, business economics, painting and print at the University of Marburg. He received his PhD in art history from Philipps-University Marburg and Trier University (SFB 600). His research interests include visual representations of the ‘other’ in early modernity, image processing and digital humanities. He is a speaker of the working group Digital Art History.
