Computer Vision Intervention. How digital methods help to visually understand corpora of art and cultural heritage
Art History and Computer Vision can both be seen as image sciences. Working in both fields we would like to strengthen the interdisciplinary discussion (also media studies, archeology, historians etc. can join) and show first steps in image processing. We invite to a hands on workshop, stepping from different image processing tools to computer vision scenarios, framed by a brief introduction of our work and related work (in object and pose recognition, image comparison and retrieval) at the beginning of every session. In the first two days, we will showcase and program together out of the box problems, in the second part we should ask for your own ideas, data and develop small projects.
