Thorsten Trippel
Thorsten Trippel is a researcher of Computational Linguistics and joined the group at the University of Tübingen in 2010. He obtained a PhD at Bielefeld University, Germany, at the Department of Linguistics and Literary Studies. He has been working on curating linguistic resources, metadata development, tools for the evaluation of metadata and lexical resources. His expertise is especially in supporting other research groups in archiving and providing data, mediating between the technology and the users, designing bridging technologies and material. Currently he is the liaison coordinator for CLARIN-D and involved in standardization activities in ISO TC 37 SC 3 and 4 for standardizing formats for language resources.
He has a long history of working with X-technologies, including modeling data in XML, transformations in XSLT, querying in XQuery and editing in XForms. He always tries to find a way to describe even the most complex types of research data.
